Summer Reading Group for Teaching Stream Faculty in Economics
To help us reflect, renew and tie our teaching closer to the pedagogical literature, we’re starting a summer reading group for Teaching Stream faculty.
This is in addition to and complementary to the Summer Community of Practice.
Please send book suggestions to k.freitas@utoronto.ca
Reading Prompts
Based on the Connect-Extend-Challenge prompt by John Spencer in his How to Use Book Clubs for Deeper Professional Learning article. June 15, 2020.
- Connect: One thing you do that captures the ideas in the week’s reading.
- Update: One way you can incorporate the ideas in the week’s reading.
- Dissonant: Something that you found confusing, didn’t quite fit for you, something you don’t see how to fit in your courses etc.
